About The Kenco Project
Gordon Highlander was selected by Kenco, a premier third-party logistics service provider in North America, for a pivotal project at their newly acquired Southfield Park 35 facility in Desoto, TX. Tasked with creating a state-of-the-art, 490,000 square foot design-build distribution and fulfillment center, the facility was specially outfitted to accommodate the storage of lithium batteries through advanced, level temperature-controlled storage solutions.
The project also included enhanced safety protocols and specialized fire suppression systems tailored for hazardous materials storage. The warehouse has 21 dock packages and six high-volume, low-speed (HVLS) fans. It features 7,000 square feet of office space, strategically divided into two pods on opposite sides of the facility.
Collaborating closely with Kenco, we efficiently expedited the project timeline to ensure the client could become fully operational swiftly and safely, all while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory requirements and quality control measures, emphasizing an accelerated schedule without compromising safety standards.
